  1. I generally do not do PVP oriented anything, but I've heard ALLOT of good things about the survival games. So, I'd like to know if I can get any advice, tips, et.c before I start since the only thing I know of was the Yogscast Survival Games episode, and that was on teams.... I'm not sure ho that goes here xD

  3. practice pvp and try to have a chest route
    have fun
  4. I have no idea where any chests are so my First game will go SO well xD
  5. Spectate a game the look around and make a route before you play
  6. All chests are randomly filled with items. However, certain chests are filled with better items than others. Each of these chests are branded either tier 1 or tier 2.

The most basic kind of chest is called a tier 1 chest, and in it could by any number of things. In tier 1 chests there can be any combination of items such as leather armor, single ingots, wooden sword or stone sword, fishing rods, raw food, sticks, string, and bows.

In tier 2, the chests can have any number of combination of items, yet, these items are superior to items found in tier 1. In tier 2 chests possible discoveries will consist of cake, cooked food, stone sword, iron armor, gold armor, chain armor, diamond(s), shears, single ingots, maps, composes, and clocks. For example all the chest in corn (the spawn on any map) are tier 2. Yet, in other places, usually tier 2s are harder to get to.

Pro Tip: Always have a route of chests consisting of 10+ chests.
In order to have this you have to learn where chests are, and moreover, your environment. BEFORE you start playing I highly recommend exploring the maps while spectating. Specifically watching someone good, with a decent amount of points. Try to spectate iFrox, Soxfan2, anyone high on the leader boards. While watching take note of where they go, and try to mimic their path when you play on your own. They will most likely show you a ton of chests giving you a route you can rely on.

As for good PvPing, that is the hardest to learn. To tell you the truth, I suck at PvP and I've been playing Survival Games for months. So pick someone good again and study how they fight. There is a great fighter out there named, "Sleivert," who has a brilliant PvP style where he blocks and hits, blocks and hits...

If you have any more questions just ask.

  7. id post a good guide but im on touchpad
  8. How does one Spectate? Just join?
  9. Join while a game is in progress to spectate. And to spectate certain players do /spec <playername>

  12. But as Theoreitcal says it takes practice, i wouldn't recomend using the block and hit strategy while you are getting into pvp as you should learn the basics first, but i can give you some tips to speed up the process :)

1: Learn to strafe. This means getting on the side of your opponent making it harder for him to hit you and you can easily get behind him and get in a few hits on him.

2: Never go backwards in a fight. If you are backpadeling(going backwards) and your opponent is moving towards you he can hit you when you can't so always keep moving at him and if you need to run from him, try to run past him, don't turn around and run exept you got some distance on him.

3: Learn to use the bow. The bow is a great weapon to even out a fight with a guy who has better armor than you or better weapon. It does four and a half heart of damage to a enemy without any armor when fully charged and still hurts for a player in good armor aswell.

4: When in water go under them. If you're in the water or climbing vines it's the same rule as i mentioned earlier with the guy going backwards being hit while he can't hit back, but in water the guy who is under the opponent will be able to hit him while the guy on top can't. Check out this video of mine, it's for taking out teams, but also goes over water fighting:

5: Armor is key. When you are thinking about getting into a fight with someone compare your armor to his armor. If you have better armor and a decent weapon(Stone sword or higher) you can consider attacking. A guy in full iron armor and a wooden sword is more of a threat than a guy in no armor with a diamond sword.

6: Experience. As you play more you learn more and will eventually become better and better. I can tell you this, map 1 is being played most of the time so try to learn that and where to go to have an advantage in fights. And i almost forgot, but by the end of this week i will have my map 1 complete walkthrough out wich will cover how to know where you are on the map, where chests are and opening routes, worth checking out ;)

  13. Any more tips? :p I've specated a little Ready to atleast try my first game xD
  14. tip 7: Have fun :)
  15. I always have fun xD Even if I loose.
  16. Wait, Sleivert, would you recommend the hit and block for me? You killed me twice with it and I was just amazed!
  17. Sure, if you got the basics down go ahead and do it. What you do is just click right and left mouse button at the same time, but remember that it slows you down and will only block if you hit your opponent at the same time as he hits you so don't stick to it all the time, some times strafing is better, but if you get in face to face it's a good idea to use it.
  18. I lasted 5 and a half minutes xD Got corned in a one way out pond by a team, with no hunger. Seems practise will be needed. *nod nod*
  19. If you ever have any questions, hit me up on skype, name is "Sleivert" if i'm on i will probably be able to answer :)
  20. I'll probably have to at this rate xD
