Guide Problem connecting to the new SoftLayer servers? Follow this

Hello,

We are noticing a number of people can't connect to our Eu servers. We are not sure what is causing this, so we need your help.

Follow this guide first (windows users):

1. Click on Start -> Run (WinXP) or Start (WinVista and up)
2. Type cmd and hit enter
3. Type ipconfig /flushdns
4. Check if you can connect to a server. Still not working? Go on.
5. Try to connect to the server ip 5.10.66.64
6. Try to connect to the server ip 5.10.66.73
7. Is this working? Than it is a DNS problem. Try switching to Googles DNS server. Not working? Go on.

If it is still not connecting, we need you to post some basic information in this thread:

• Country
• Operating system
• Is US working?
• What error do you get?
• Run a traceroute to 5.10.66.64 and 5.10.66.73, then screenshot it. More info about doing a traceroute: http://www.mediacollege.com/internet/troubleshooter/traceroute.html
• Any other relevant information

By 7. I assume you mean Can you connect to the ip's. Well I Can't So here is the information

• What error do you get? Can't Reach Server
• Any other relevant information. I could reach the servers before we went out of Beta? Also I can't access "eulb.mcsg.in" either. Is this related?

i feel sorry for people who are getting that error :S hope its fixed soon

Us is not working for me well it goes to the point until it says logging in then it just stops, i couldn't hit cancel but my computer was working plz help!!!

Btw how can i be a mod or such because i would really like 2 help u guys!

Is it me or have the eu servers crashed (0/24 and cant join) ?

Quite frankly, I think it's because Minecraft is updating to 1.3... but I don't know. Usually the authentication servers go down when Mojang releases a new update. So, it can't authenticate your account to join any premium server, that's why it gets stuck at "Logging in...". The only possible way to join a server is if it has "offline-mode" equal to "false". Because offline-mode doesn't require any authentication to join, but it lets hackers do stuff, so it's not recommended to ever do.

• Any other relevant information - Well I was in a game and I got killed or died or whatever. Then I left the game to find another. So I click on a 'lobby' game and it came up with the error for about 10 times that I tried.
